Hello

My name is Mariah Johnston, and I'm a photojournalist.

I am a 2025 graduate from Linfield University with a journalism and media studies degree and a minor in anthropology. My time at Linfield has taught me that the best experience is hands-on. During my time in undergrad, I interned for the Willamette Valley Visitors Association, worked in the Office of Strategic Communications, served as the managing editor of The Linfield Review, completed the Charles Snowden Excellence in Journalism internship through the University of Oregon and freelanced to multiple publications.

Currently, I am the outdoor journalism intern at the Statesman Journal, where I write, photograph and video Oregon's wildest places. I also cut audio for the Explore Oregon podcast.

I have a passion for storytelling, visual impact and documenting moments that matter. ​
